After a breakfast at the hotel, we move to the east part of Gerogia, Region Kakheti’s main higlight city - Sighnaghi. Sighnaghi is one of Georgia’s historic  city which  kept  its original style  during  the centuries with  open  traditional  balconies,  unique  fortress with  churches  and  towers  built  in  it  and narrow beautiful streets to walk along. Sighnaghi is also known as “a city of love”, overlooks the Alazani valley and opens to visitors the magnificent views of the Great Caucasus Range.

Here we can also visit Sighnaghi historical and ethnographical museum visualized with collection from the Second Millennium B.C. and Late Bronze Age ceramics, adornments and weapons. And many more ancient ethnographic object or masterpieces by famous Georgian painters.

 After a long walk inn and around the city we’re able to have some relaxation in one host-farmer’s residence, have a lunch there and a chance to taste the various sorts of wine combined along with chees and traditional sweets, at Village Velistsikhe. Which is situated in 15 minutes drive from Sighnaghi city.

You can also take a participation in a Georgian traditional bread beaking process in the clay oven. At the evening , with a charged emotions and impressions we drive back to Tbilisi and overnight at the hotel .

Tbilisi – Ananuri – Kazbegi – Tbilisi ( 350 km )

 

Breakfast at the hotel. Check out and drive towards Mtkheta – Mtianeti Region, more correctly,  high destinations in this region, worth to see and feel yourself. First we arrive in Ananuri, a 17th century architectural complex, overlooking the Zhinvali reservoir. The sight from where is marvelous. One stop at a Pasanauri for lunch and  afterwards we arrive in Kazbegi- the main town in the region.

 

Kazbegi is 157 kilometers distanced from the capital, and it’s elevation counts  approximately 1,740 metres above sea level. En’ rot we’ll stop on the special area made for tourists to review the scenic views from there, approximately 2000 metres above se level. Then drive on the vehicles to the main highlight of Kazbegi The Gergeti Trinity Church .

 

The church is (14th century) located on top of the mountain (2170m) . Which represents the one of the country’s most iconic images. If the weather support us, we may also be able to catch a glimpse of one the highest glaciers in the Caucasus- Mkinvarcveri (5047m). ( As on the high like this there are clouds most of the time) To the end of our trip we drive back to Tbilisi. Check in a hotel and overnight.

Tbilisi – Tbilisi – city tour

 

After a breakfast at the hotel, we start Tbilisi – city tour. The spectacular views of Old and Modern Tbilisi combination will break into your mind. As this charming town is built in the 5th century along the twisting valley of the Mtkvari River. Where up-dated infrastructure is chained to the ancient one. What is more, the fine places in old part of Tbilisi are located side-by-side and it is easily walkable. We will start tour from the 13th century Metekhi church.

 

Continue to the Synagogue, Syoni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica. Afterwards we will approach the 4th century Narikala Fortress, on the cable cab, from which you can enjoy a picturesque panoramic view of Tbilisi.And the walk to the brick-domed Sulfur Baths and botanical garden.After all the activities we will be able to take some welcome dinner at a restaurant and have an opportunity to get acquainted with the traditional Georgian feast, watch the professional performance of colorful Georgian folk dances and  listen to the Georgian traditional music.

Tbilisi –  Mtskheta – Mukhrani – Tbilisi ( 100 km )

 

After a breakfast at the hotel, we drive to the mountanous Region of Georgia - Mtskheta-Mtianeti Region. We arrive in Mtskheta, one of Georgia’s ancient cities (3000 years old) and see its historical place Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th cen.) Where the Robe of Christ is buried. This monument is under a UNESCO protection. From here we continue our way towards Jvari, to a hill, near ancient capital and religious center of Georgia – Mtskheta, where the Jvari ( cross) Monastery is located.

 

 

One of the masterpieces of Georgian architecture was built in the 6th century. Jvari also represents the one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. From the Jvari Monastery’s yard a breathtaking views of Aragvi and Mtkvari Rivers estuary can be seen.  Afterward we drive to Mukhrani Vineyard 24 kilometers distanced from Mtskheta.

 

 

We’ll have a lunch at this amazing place, where you will enjoy a gorgeous gardens, vineyards  and an old cellars of Ivane Mukhranbatoni. The territory is twisted along the beautiful fields , vineyards and breathtaking panoramic views. You are able to see the patrimonial palace, wine cellar and a wine collection studio apart, where you can taste a different sorts of premium class Georgian wine made from the grapes grown in the vineyards walkable by you. Day 1 / Arrival in Tbilisi

Arrival in Tbilisi international airport. Pick up from Tbilisi international airport. Check in a hotel  have a lunch and one hour rest. The short rest will be followed by The evening Tbilisi-city tour. Visitor has an opportunity to see an old beautiful lighten capital’s streets and an amazing views. First we’ll visit The Holly Trinity Church in Avlabari, which is the highest Cathedrals in Georgia (105,5 metres), it’s as beautiful at night as in the early morning sun. Move down by  foot to the old part of town called Rike, where a beautiful garden is located, moving down from where, cross the freedom bridge lighten up perfectly, which performs a modern element on this place, chained with an old infrastructure. Passing the bridge appear on Shardeni street which is beautiful exactly at night, with a lot cafe-bars and restaurants. Also walk along the wine and souvenir shops on Leselidze Street, which represents a main touristic avenue in addition to Rustaveli, where expose in the end of Leselidze Street. See the Statue of St. George, wich Georgians call  a liberty statue, as you’re on Liberty Square now. See an old Parliament  building here, as well as a new Opera House standing opposite and a Rustaveli Theatre, side by side with a Shota Rustaveli Theatre University. Although a various clothes, technics and fine arts shops on a boundless venue. From the middle of that long avenue step to Rustaveli Avenue, beautiful with it’s magnificent sceneries. Arrive on Chonkadze street by bus from where the funicular cab will drove us up to Mountain Mtatsminda, which in English refers to a Holly Mountain. From here an incredible view of full town is spread out. And exactly here, with a spectacular view of town, on the terrace of funicular restaurant have your evening dinner, accompanied with a chorus’s  Georgian polyphonic singing. At the middle of the night or much earlier( as there is a will ), arrive back in our hotel for a good sleep.

Day 1 / Tbilisi – ( Arrival )

Arrival in Tbilisi international airport. Pick up from Tbilisi international airport and transfer to hotel. Check in a hotel  for some rest. The rest will be followed by the walk through the night Tbilisi streets. After a night city tour have an evening dinner at a restaurant with an opportunity to get acquainted with the traditional Georgian feast, watch the professional performance of colorful Georgian folk dances and  listen to the Georgian singing. Overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 2 / Tbilisi – Mtskheta – Jvari –Tbilisi 

After a breakfast at the hotel, we’ll start  a Tbilisi – City Tour. This charming town was built in the 5th century along the twisting valley of the Mtkvari River. So, you will be able to see a lots of antiquities chained into a modern infrastructure. We will start tour from the 13th century Metekhi church. Continue to the Synagogue, Syoni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica. Than we approach the 4th century Narikala Fortress, on the cable cab, from which you can enjoy a picturesque panoramic view of Tbilisi. And the walk to the brick-domed Sulfur Baths and botanical garden. After the city tour we proceed ito Mtskheta - one of Georgia’s ancient cities (3000 years old) and see its historical place Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th cen.) Where the Robe of Christ is buried. This monument is also under a UNESCO protection. From here we continue road to the hill, Mtskheta,where the - Jvari ( cross) Monastery is located. One of the masterpieces of Georgian architecture was built in the 6th century. Jvari now represents the one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites. Arrive back in Tbilisi and ovrnight.

 

 

Day 3 / Tbilisi- Shenaqo –Dartlo

After a breakfast at the hotel we drive towards one of the most ecologically unspoiled regions in the Caucasus Tusheti; located on the northern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, most of the villages, because of hard life conditions are deserted. Arrive in Shenaqo, a remote and beautiful  village (2080m. above sea level), walk around. Drive to Dartlo (2000m. above sea level) one of the most beautiful villages in the region. Dinner and overnight in private guesthouse in Dartlo, with very basic facilities.

 

Day 4 / Dartlo -Chehso – Parsma – Girevi - Dartlo

After breakfast we walk up to beautiful hill, from where you’ll have picturesque views of Caucasus Range. Explore villages of Chesho, Parsma and Girevi. Drive back to Dartlo.

Dinner and overnight in a private guestouse in Dartlo.

Walking time: approx. 6-8 hours.

Note: Walking up can be done in different ways. It can be of easy or moderately difficult, it depends on how high you want to hike. Walking along villages isn’t difficult, difference in altitude isn’t much.

 

 

Day 5 / Dartlo - Dano – Kvavlo – Omalo

Today we continue to explore some of the remote villages  Dano and  Kvavlo.  Return to Dartlo and drive to Omalo (1880m above sea level).Explore this beautiful village. It  consists of two parts: Upper Omalo and Lower Omalo. Visit museum and a tower in upper part and a national park with interesting exhibition in lower one. Dinner and Overnight in a private guesthouse in Omalo, with very basic facilities  Walking time: approx. 3-4 hours. Note: Walking isn’t difficult, altitude doesn’t change much.

 

Day6/Omalo – Alaverdi -  gremi - Telavi

From Omalo we drive to Wine Region of Georgia Kakheti. Visit 11th century cathedral Alaverdi, One of the biggest and most beautiful cathedrals in Georgia and Gremi complex, the 16th century architectural monument – the royal citadel and the Church of the Archangels. 

Dinner and overnight in a hotel  in Telavi.

 

Day 7: (24.08)Telavi – Gori – Uflistsikhe –Stefantsminda

From Telavi we drive to the town of Gori, Stalin’s birthplace. Josef Stalin (1879 – 1953) was Georgia’s most infamous son; the secretary general of the Communist Party from 1922 until his death, he is said to have been one of the cruelest dictators of modern times, although you might hear a different version in Georgia. In Gori you can visit his house and the Stalin Museum which features the famous Stalin statue that was controversially standing in the main square up until June 2010. Continue to the cave town of Uflistsikhe, lying on the route of the Great Silk Road, hewn from the cliffs in the 6th century BC. We continue our  drive along the famous Georgian Military Highway (leading to the Georgian-Russian border). On the way we stop near Ananuri architectural complex (17th century). A stunning drive along the Tergi River will bring us to Stepantsminda – the main town in Khevi region.

Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Stefantsminda .

 

Day8 / Stefantsminda – Gergeti –Gveleti Waterfalls -  Stefantsminda

After breakfast hike up through beautiful valleys and woodland to Gergeti Trinity Church located at 2170m. Weather permitting you may catch a glimpse of one of the highest glaciers in the Caucasus – Mt. Mkinvartsveri (Mt. Kazbegi, 5047m.). Later we drive to the village of Gveleti, famous for its beautiful waterfalls and enjoy scenic walk.  Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Stefantsminda.

Walking time: 2 + 3 hours

Note: Going up to Gergeti Trinity Church isn’t difficult, it isn’t steep. Difference in altitude is about 450 m. Walking towards waterfalls is quite easy, no going up or down.

 

Day 9 / Stefantsminda – Gudauri – Khada Gorge – Juta

In the morning drive to Gudauri ski resorts (2200m above sea level) and start  walking  down the beautiful Khada Gorge famous for its wild flowers and a watchtower. At the end of walk we’ll be met by our vehicles and drive to Juta (2150m above sea level) - cut off from the rest of the country for 6 months a year due to snow.

Dinner and overnight in a hotel in Juta

Walking time: approx. 5 hours

Note: Walking is quite easy, you go up at about for 20 minutes, not steep, after you walk and go down.

 

Day10 / Juta –Chaukhebi –Tbilisi

In the morning  enjoy a 3  hour walk to Mt. Chaukhebi, where you will climb a little way up the slopes, you will then walk back to Juta and Drive to Tbilisi.

Walking time: approx. 3 hours

Note: You go up for 20 minutes, not very steep, then walk.
